I grew up in California with my mother and four siblings, at a young age my parents got divorced so my father did not fix my mom's status and since all my other brothers are from another marriage my father never petitioned them. At the age of eleven three of them moved back to Mexico due to a lack of opportunities at the time. All four of them were born in Mexico and I was the only one to be born in the United States. Two years after that, my mother was deported. The next time I would see my mother would be at the age of 18, at first I didn't recognize her until I saw her up close.
I enjoy working here because I really feel like I'm making a difference, unlike the other jobs I have had in the past. Here I'm able to help families that are going through similar things I went through, and prevent families from being separated.
