I am ecstatic to be part of the committed and passionate team at Lincoln-Goldfinch Law. My interest in immigration began when I was an exchange student to Costa Rica during high school. My exchange family there became like a second family to me. I returned to the U.S. with an interest in Latin American culture and a greater awareness of treatment toward immigrants. As I studied more throughout college, I learned about the injustices and hardships that many immigrants endure. I vowed to go to law school to help make a difference in immigration policy and in the lives of immigrants.
I believe the best thing about our country is the diversity in our cultures. I enjoy getting to know people from many different countries and helping them feel empowered by knowing their rights.
My previous experience includes working at the Immigration Clinic at the University of Houston, the Houston Immigration Court, the Refugee and Immigrant Center for Education and Legal Services (RAICES), and Justice of Our Neighbors (JFON). At my last two jobs I was honored to work with both detained and released immigrant children. Getting to know these children and supporting their right to become legal in the U.S. has forever shaped my life. I continue to be inspired by their stories on a daily basis.
When I am not at work, I love to explore Austin with my husband, my three-year-old son Nathan, and our dog Molly. I am so happy to be a part of this community where diversity is cherished and celebrated.
